Technology has the capacity to connect and disconnect. However, virtual connection does not have the same social and emotional effects as physical. This presentation will update the audience on tech trends affecting students and educators. It will discuss strategies to encourage social and emotional learning WITH tech, and WITHOUT it. Attendees will participate in a digital empathy activity and learn about resources and student-tested strategies to help students connect emotionally with others, despite the many screens around them.
